Voluspa Jarpa

Voluspa Jarpa’s work involves extensive research and art pieces that delve into the nature of the archive, memory, and the cultural and symbolic notion of social trauma. Her most important solo exhibitions include En nuestra pequeña región de por acá, Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (2016), and L’effet Charcot, La Maison de l’Amerique Latine, Paris (2010), among others. She has also participated in international group exhibitions such as Altered Views, Chilean Pavilion, 58th Venice Biennale (2019); Proregress, 12th Shanghai Biennale (2018); Parapolitics: Cultural Freedom and the Cold War, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin (2017–2018); and the 31st São Paulo Biennial (2014), among others. She recently received the Julius Baer Art Prize for Latin American Female Artists (2020).
