Tomás Bermúdez, a dual citizen of Venezuela and Colombia, has been the Manager of the Andean Group Country Department at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) since July 2020. He is also the IDB Country Representative in Peru. Bermúdez was the IDB Representative in Mexico (2018–2020), Trinidad and Tobago (2015–2018), and Panama (2011–2015), where he managed the Bank's sovereign and non-sovereign portfolio, as well as technical assistance initiatives in each country. Previously, he served as Head of Equity Investments and as Manager of the IIC-China Equity Fund of the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC, now IDB Invest), part of the IDB Group. Before joining the IDB Group, he was Vice-President of Debt Capital Markets for BBVA Securities in New York. Bermúdez holds a BA and an MBA from American University in Washington, D.C.
